& ethics

Our values

The OC Project values respect, consent, inclusion, professionalism, creativity and play. We create experiences that leave people feeling more connected, confident and engaged than when they arrived.

Safe, inclusive and respectful environment

We design our workshops to be safe, inclusive and respectful spaces. We encourage connection, confidence, communication, creativity and teamwork in a supportive setting.

Discrimination, harassment, bullying, homophobia, racism, sexism or any form of inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. We expect all participants to respect the boundaries, opinions and personal space of others at all times.

Participants are also expected to follow reasonable instructions from facilitators relating to safety, participation and the respectful running of the workshop.

Consent and participant wellbeing

We prioritise consent and participant wellbeing in all of our activities. No participant will be pressured to take part in an activity that makes them uncomfortable, and physical contact will only occur with clear consent.

Unsafe, threatening, intimidating, non-consensual behaviour or intentional humiliation is not permitted. We encourage participants to communicate their boundaries, and our facilitators will respect and support those boundaries throughout the workshop.

Facilitator safety

Our facilitators have the right to a safe and respectful working environment.

If a participant’s behaviour creates an unsafe, threatening, discriminatory, disruptive or inappropriate environment, the facilitator may pause, modify or end an activity or workshop where reasonably necessary.

Accessibility and inclusion

We aim to make our workshops accessible and inclusive. We happily adapt activities where possible to accommodate different physical abilities, learning styles and participant needs.

We encourage clients to let us know about any accessibility or participation requirements before the workshop so we can make appropriate adjustments wherever possible.

Privacy and confidentiality

Personal information collected through bookings is handled in accordance with The OC Project’s Privacy statement.

Personal or sensitive information shared directly with The OC Project or its facilitators during a workshop will be treated respectfully and only shared where reasonably necessary or required by law.

Photography and video consent

The OC Project will only take or use photos or videos for marketing purposes with the appropriate permission of the client and relevant participants.

Appropriate consent will be obtained before photography or recording undertaken by The OC Project takes place.

Feedback and complaints

We encourage clients and participants to provide feedback following workshops. We handle concerns or complaints professionally, respectfully and in a timely manner.

Safety and risk management

The OC Project maintains appropriate public liability insurance and takes reasonable steps to identify and address safety issues relevant to the delivery of its workshops.

Clients are responsible for providing a suitable and safe venue and for advising The OC Project of relevant venue, accessibility or participation requirements.

Where workshops involve children or young people, The OC Project will maintain any Working with Children Check and safeguarding requirements applicable to its role. Client organisations remain responsible for their own supervision, child-safety and duty-of-care obligations.

Service delivery

We are committed to delivering workshops in accordance with the agreed scope and providing a professional service to our clients.

If a workshop cannot be delivered in accordance with the agreed service, appropriate remedies will be considered based on the circumstances.

Cancellation, rescheduling and other booking conditions are communicated to clients through The OC Project’s applicable booking terms.
